Fine Art Friday

This week's FAF is dedicated to photographer Slim Aarons.

Apparently the LA episodes of last season's Mad Men were partly inspired by his photography. (Am I obsessed with Mad Men? Maybe a little.)

Much like Julius Shulman, RIP, he photographed architecture and life in LA during the 60's. But he also took images of celebs and the debutantes that adorned LA during the 60s, 70s and 80s.

To me, the early 60s and 70s was the one and only time LA was cool. But I'm also way into this period for its style of clothing, decor and its emphasis on partying ;-)

Enjoy the throwback.

XOXO

Fine Art Friday

Today's Fine Art Friday artist is photographer Shannon Taggart. Not sure how I first came upon her work, but I did recently receive an email promo from her that interested me enough to click.

My favorite work on her site are her portraits. She uses some cool lighting and highlight techniques that give the subject an ethereal feel. I love the portraits of the women because they look so strong despite the soft lighting.

My other favorite work of hers is the story she did on nuns. It's so playful and wonderfully composed.

Take a look on her site!

Snapshot Wednesday

Helloooo,

Today I have a super cute Snapshot Wednesday for you. It's my little baby cousins. In honor of the California cousins meeting their Connecticut cousins for the first time, I got them all "Team Piech" t-shirts, since they are all Piechs!

I even got numbers on the back based on their birth order: Konrad in the red is #1, Artur in the navy blue is #2, Damian in the green is #3, and baby Kamila is #4!!

If you too want to personalize a t-shirt for a family event, or any other event, check out Neighborhoodies.com.

(Cuteness totes runs in my family ;-)
