Roll me Right Round Baby, Right Round

Hello fellow lovers-of-life,

I know I promised the next post would be super great party personalization ideas, and that's still coming, but I just had to blog about a wonderful activity all should try (or try again): Roller Skating!!

Because my philosophy, and the intent of this Blog, is that "everyday is a party." I will cover off on lots and lots of fun social activities that you may never thought of, or maybe you had, but were too afraid to try.

Last night, my friend Jaime and I went to the Crazy Legs Skate Club last night in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. http://crazylegsskateclub.com/

It was one of the best times I've had, completely sans alcohol, in a long time! It's in an old school, which is now the Salvation Army building, and host to some Church programs. The roller rink is a converted gym and tickets to skate are only $10. The only catch is that you have to bring your own skates.

The best part of it all was that it was a mix of all different kinds of people who love skating, but with one notable exception: no hipsters! Thank god, because the feel of the night was completely unpretentious and if I had grown up in the 70s, my guess is that it would be a lot like this place.

My photographer friend Greg http://www.gregoryboyd.com/index3.html and my friend Celeste were also there, and Greg took some amazing portraits of the skaters. See Below!!

Ponder this: what if there were a gym with a roller rink, trapeze, huge trampoline, and other sorts of grown up playground activities...wouldn't you want to sign up for that? Anyone know any investors in this downturn economy? ;-)

That sounds so fun! I've been wanting to go roller skating for the longest time. I'm actually trying to set up a roller skating event out here to benefit St Jude Children's Hospital. Should be awesome!

We kind of look like an American Apparel ad. If only we had some shots of us tearing it up on the gym floor...
